I love color, texture ,and shape, how it plays across a painting, photograph, or sculpture to create a sense of wonder, a feeling of well being, hope, anticipation and surprise. No two paintiings are exactly the same, no piece of sculpture, blown glass or photograph instills the same feeling. As I grow and delve into the different media, I enjoy exploring this new world of endless possibilites.
I began painting as a hobby and with the encouragement of family and friends, began entering paintings in various local contests and was suprised to discover others appreciated my artwork and was also pleasantly surprised to receive requests for prints and commissioned pieces. I draw on my early years spent in Port Hope, and then Stayner, Ontario, but most of my inspiration comes from my trip to British Columbia by train, in the fall, when I was about 9 years of age. Even then, I was spellbound by all the brilliant fall colors and waving fields of grasses.
